Brief History of First Baptist Church of Weeki Wachee Acres
Through the years God has called many to serve Him in various ways. The following is a brief history of the marvelous grace of God and how He worked through His people to bring about what is now known as the First Baptist Church of Weeki Wachee Acres. A Christ-centered Church, fulfilling the Great Commission through the ministry of reconciliation of God and man.
The mission held their first service January 21, 1979 in the Weeki Wachee Senior Citizens Club building. The Mission was assisted by both The Aripeka Baptist Church and The Amelia Baptist Church.
Rev. Richard Graves was appointed as the Mission Pastor, Mary Ann Graves, David Graves, Richard P. Graves, Beryl Shamblen, Vada Shamblen, and Georgia Bray made a complete congregation of seven.
